Soap & Glory Makeup 3 for 2!

So today I went in search of nothing in particular and after wondering around a while I came to the soap and glory stand. Now I don’t usually frequent their products for no reason specifically but they had 3 for 2 and I could do with a new eyeliner so I thought I’d have a go!

First thing I picked up was their Carbon Black Extreme Eyeliner Pen (£6). The tip is marker pen style and on first impressions it seems to leave a fairly smooth pigmented line. The applicator is very easy to use and a vast improvement on my collection 2000 applicator. First impressions overall are a thumbs up but I can’t see anything special with it as of yet.

Moving on to their smoulder kohl eyeliner pencil (£5). I can’t say much for it’s staying power yet but the line it leaves on my hand seems very pigmented and it comes with its own sharpener which is always a plus. I like it, but it says it is a waterproof liner and I am dubious considering how easy it smudges on my hand and completely vanishes after just one wipe.

Lastly, I treated myself to their Love at first blush shimmer powder (£11). I struggled and struggled to get a good true to real life shot of this blush but my camera just wasn’t having it. It’s a very shimmery powder, quite light and rosy but maybe not for everyone given the pure amount of shimmer. Personally, I love it and can’t wait to wear it, the powder is soft and goes onto a brush nicely and you really don’t need much. In fact it may be a blush with which you have to be careful not to add too much to avoid looking like a shiny alien.

Overall, I’m impressed with my first experience of soap and glory cosmetics, (other than the fact that the packaging of my products seems to be a little more battered and dirtied than I would like though I would expect this is Boot’s issue not theirs) I am excited to try out these products more and if any of them amaze or completely disappoint me you’ll be sure to hear about it!
